SAD GOOD NEWS COMING IN NOW: The Body Of Alwell Orji, Medical Doctor Who Jumped Into Lagos Lagoon Found After 3 Days

Emerging reports indicates that the dead body of Dr. Alwell Orji, a medical doctor, who committed suicide by jumping into the lagoon on the Third Mainland Bridge, has been recovered by marine policemen.
According to a police source who spoke to Punch, Allwell’s mother has already been contacted to come for the identification of the body.
“The body of the doctor was found at about 11.30am. We want to be double sure and his parent has been called to come and identify the body.”







A report by Channels Television disclosed that the Lagos state commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni confirmed that the body belongs to the young medical doctor, adding that the corpse was recovered by the Marine Police at the Onikan end of the lagoon.
The body of late Dr. Alwell Orji was found three days after the incident occurred. Until his death, he worked at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Surulere area of Lagos state. He was said to be on his way to Victoria Island for a meeting with the Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria when the incident happened.
Recall that the deceased on Sunday, March 19, 2017 had asked his driver to stop the vehicle before jumping across the bridge and into the water.
The Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) in a statement said there was a distress call of a man who parked his grey coloured Nissan SUV about 4.50 pm around Adekunle and jumped into the Lagos lagoon. The agency said the vehicle and the driver had been taken to Adeniji Adele Police Station for further investigation.







In the process of investigating the death of the victim, neighbours at the deceased’s family residence located on Odunukan street, Ebute-Ejigbo, Yaba area of Lagos, revealed that before he finally succeeded in taking his life on Sunday, March 19 by jumping into the Lagos lagoon, Allwell Orji had earlier attempted to kill himself four years ago but was saved.
Another report on This Day disclosed that a medical officer at the headquarters of the hospital where the late doctor was a staff refused to answer any question about the young man but when he was asked if the doctor was indeed sacked, he replied in the affirmative.
