Cases of this nature are not rare all around the world, only recently an unnamed lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, was suspended over allegations of ra pe leveled against him.

The Punch reports that the lecturer in the department of Public Administration, was said to have been caught in the act and had been alleged by several female students to have committed the act.

Bala Elkana, the image maker of the Niger state police command, confirmed the incident, explaining that the randy lecturer would remain in police custody until the end of the investigation while the victim has been receiving treatment at the school medical’s centre.
The institution’s public relations officer, Alhaji Hussaini Enagi, also explained that the lecturer involved was a senior employee of the institution and has since been suspended with his salary slashed into two.

 He said: “It is true that there have been an allegation of ra pe against one of our lecturers. The case has been referred to the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee for investigation and recommendation.
“The alleged crime is also being investigated by the police. The official has been suspended and will also receive half salary pending the outcome of the committee’s investigation.”
